PATHFINDER

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of my pathfinder is to help teachers find lessons and or activities they can use to help students improve their inferencing skills. Some lessons/activities may be taught or facilitated by the teacher and some may be used as centers once they have been introduced to the students.

KEY TERMS

Inferencing – Inferencing is a reading skill which enables the student to deeply comprehend a passage, story, or article. The student must be able to put his/her own background knowledge together with clues given in the story to correctly perceive any feelings, actions, or events implied by the author. The student must be able to draw the conclusions implied by the author if they are to truly understand a story.
